Who Are Angels, And How Are They?

In this article we will know who are angels and how are they? let’s start

Answer From Scripture

Angels are invisible beings who are far more powerful and capable than humans. (2 Peter 2:11) They live in heaven, which is completely different from our world. We humans cannot see it with our own eyes. (1 Kings 8:27; John 6:38) That is why these creatures are called angels.—1 Kings 22:21; Psalm 18:10.

How did angels start?

Jesus is called “the firstborn of all creation” in the Bible. Through him, God created the angels. The Bible states, “Through [Jesus] all other things in heaven and on earth were created, that which is seen and that which is not seen.” Angels are also included in the unseen creation. (Colossians 1:13-17) Angels do not marry and are not created with the ability to have children. (Mark 12:25) Instead, each “son” of the true God has been created.—Job 1:6.

Angels were created long before the earth was created. So when God laid the earth’s foundation, the angels “cracked with joy.”—Job 38:4-7.

How many angels are there?

The Bible does not say exactly how many of them are numbered, but it does say that they are numerous. For example, the apostle John was given a vision in which he saw hundreds of millions of angels.—Revelation 5:11.

Do angels have a name and a different personality?

Yes. The Bible names two angels. One is Michael, and the other is Gabriel. (Daniel 12:1; Luke 1:26) * Other angels acknowledged that they had a name but did not give theirs.—Genesis 32:29; Judges 13:17, 18.

Each angel has a different personality. They also have their language in which they interact with each other. (1 Corinthians 13:1) They have the power of reasoning and sing songs to God’s glory. (Luke 2:13, 14) They can choose whether they will do what is right or wrong. How do we know this? Because when Satan rebelled against God, some angels sinned and turned to Satan’s side.—Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4.

Do angels have different statuses?

Yes. The archangel Michael is the most powerful and has the most authority over the other angels. (Jude 9; Revelation 12:7) The seraphs are high-ranking angels who stand by Jehovah’s throne. (Isaiah 6:2, 6) Cherubim are also high-ranking angels with special responsibilities. For example, when Adam and Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden, the cherubim were assigned to guard the road leading to the garden.—Genesis 3:23, 24.

Do angels help people?

Yes. God helps his people today by means of faithful angels.

God uses angels to guide his servants so they can proclaim the good news of God’s Kingdom. (Revelation 14:6, 7) This help benefits both his preacher and those who hear the good news.—Acts 8:26, 27.

By means of angels, the Christian congregation is kept away from the evil influence of wicked people.—Matthew 13:49.

 Angels guide and protect those loyal to God.—Psalm 34:7; 91:10, 11; Hebrews 1:7, 14.

Very soon, the angels, together with Jesus Christ, will destroy all evil and bring relief to mankind.—2 Thessalonians 1:6-8.

Is there a special angel assigned to each of us?

Angels indeed help God’s servants to maintain a relationship with God. But this does not mean that God appoints a special angel for his servants. * (Matthew 18:10) Angels do not save God’s servants from every trial or trial. But the Bible tells us that God gives His servants the wisdom to face that test and helps them to endure. In this way, he ‘makes a way out for them from temptation.—1 Corinthians 10:12, 13; James 1:2-5.

misconceptions about angels

Truth: All demons, including Satan, will be destroyed.—Jude 6.

Misconception: When people die, they become angels.

Truth: When people die, they don’t become angels. God created angels separately. (Colossians 1:16) Those who are resurrected in heaven are gifted with an immortal life by God. (1 Corinthians 15:53, 54) Their status is higher than that of angels.—1 Corinthians 6:3.

Misconception: Angels are meant to serve humans.

Truth: Angels obey God, not us humans. (Psalm 103:20, 21) Even Jesus said that he would ask God for help, not angels.—Matthew 26:53.

Misconception: We can pray to the angels for help.

Truth: Prayer is a way of worship, and Jehovah God alone deserves our worship. (Revelation 19:10) Therefore, we should pray only to Jehovah and that too through Jesus.—John 14:6.
