The all-new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek (known in Malaysia as the Subaru XV) has gone on sale in Japan with two trims on offer – Touring and Limited, available in either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
Prices start from JPY 2,662,000 (around RM 86k) for the Touring FWD to JPY 3,289,000 (around RM 107k) for the range-topping Limited AWD. Yes, you’ve read those correctly, the Subaru Crosstrek is available with FWD, in Japan at least.
Though this isn’t new in Japan as Subaru also sells the Impreza in FWD configuration.
Dimensions for Crosstrek are 4,480 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm.
In comparison, its predecessor measures 4,465 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,615 mm tall, with a wheelbase stretching at 2,665 mm.

Powertrain consists of a 48V mild-hybrid 2.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-four engine (e-Boxer) paired to a CVT and sandwiched in between is an electric motor rated at 13.6 PS/65 Nm, contributing to a system output of 145 PS/188 Nm.
In terms of equipment, the base Touring trim gets 17-inch wheels, LED headlights with bulb-type indicators, keyless entry and push start button.
The Limited trim adds larger 18-inch wheels, full LED headlamps with cornering lights, powered front seats (10-way for driver, 8-way for passenger), and 11.6-inch portrait-style infotainment system.

As for safety, the EyeSight suite of ADAS with AEB, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, etc. is available.
