Smart ways to get comments on Instagram

If you are not a complete Instagram  addict like me, you may go a day or two without reviewing your application. And when you check your stream, you may find that some friends’ posts were shared just minutes ago, and others may be a few days old.

Ways to Get More Comments on Instagram

1. Hold a giveaway or contest

It’s a fun and easy way for fans to comment on your Instagram posts through an Instagram or weggee contest on offer. You can post on Instagram to promote the contest, and then ask users to enter by commenting on your post.

Taking over Instagram is a fun way to get new content on your Instagram and work with colleagues and influencers. It’s also a great way to generate more Instagram engagement. The build-up involves one Instagram user taking over another person’s food, usually for a day, and posting from their side.

These takeovers help generate more Instagram views, whether it’s happening on your account or taking over another account. Here is an example of a takeover we hosted with our friends at WeWork. WeWork was able to share brand and membership stories with a whole new audience including fans.

We Work ended the takeover with a call to action to follow his Instagram account – where new fans start asking for and commenting on new posts. And we liked comments from We Work fans and others interested in the takeover.

3. Ask users to engage in the comments

An easy way to get more Instagram comments is to ask. Post content on Instagram that deserves to be shared, and ask users to answer a question or tag their friends and colleagues in the comments. It’s a fun and easy way to communicate with your audience, and it also helps you get more ideas.

4. Post something funny, amazing or challenging

In a study of what makes viral content, research has shown that some of the most viral internet times have aroused emotions. The most common were messages that generated expectation, surprised the viewer and aroused curiosity and uncertainty.

Feelings of excitement were also the most common, so think of content you can share on Instagram that will make people feel so strong that they need to think about it.

Is there content you can post about an amazing fact, a happy moment or an interesting business move? It also doesn’t have to be about your brand in particular – content that appeals to a wide audience tends to attract more views.

5. Upload videos

The amount of time spent watching videos on Instagram increased by 40% in 2016, and users can now post videos of up to one minute. Post this compelling content to get fans to stop browsing their busy Instagram streams and watch your video – and make it interesting.

Your audience wants more video content – especially on social media – so if you’re sharing something compelling and asking viewers to commenton the caption, they are more likely to do so.

6. Use relevant ad tokens

When you post your content with relevant, popular Instagram hashtags, your posts will appear in searches for those hashtags and the Explore tab. In fact, posts with at least one hat tag typically get more than 12% more engagement.

Influencers and interested users can comment organically when they see you talking about topics they are also interested in, or you can combine some of the strategies above to generate communication. Ask your fans how they celebrated #SundayFunday, recognized #ThrowbackThursday, or used one of the hundreds of hashtags that are relevant to your business or content to introduce new members of your audience conversation.

7. Post pictures of human faces

Let’s face it – selfies are fun. And as it turns out, they’re also good for your Instagram strategy. A study of more than 1 million Instagram posts by the Georgia Institute of Technology and Yahoo Labs found that posts with human faces are 32% more likely to attract comments – and 38% more likely to be enjoyed.

There is little insight into why this is, but the researchers suspected that it was because faces are an effective source of non-verbal communication that people respond to – even as babies.
