For those who ride on and get down at the southbound side of the EDSA Carousel Ayala Station, you’ll be pleased to note that starting November 19, 2022 (this Saturday), the new station will be relocated inside the new One Ayala Terminal.

This new 390,000 square-meter facility stands where the Hotel Intercon was once located. One Ayala, named after its address at No. 1 Ayala Avenue corner EDSA, will be an intermodal transport hub along the famed main metropolitan highway and will have covered and well-maintained elevated walkways. This will allow commuters to get to their respective rides safely and conveniently, according to the social media account, Make It Makati.

As an intermodal transport hub, commuters will find various modes of transportation such as UV express vans, modern jeepneys, buses, and a direct connection to the MRT-Ayala Station. Bicycle racks have also been included in the architectural drawings.

The Ayala One Terminal will feature three floors and passengers are envisioned to be able to buy their tickets and wait for their rides comfortably in the concourse atrium where food stalls and restaurants will be located. The concourse’s connection with the MRT Ayala Station will spare commuters from lining up at street level under the weather. Interestingly, a new sky bridge from Glorietta to One Ayala will connect the two buildings together. Commuters need not pass through SM Makati to get to the MRT platform.

How do you think this new station will affect your commuting experience in Makati?
