Course of studies
The studies of physio take place in 5 years, a year of selection than 4 years of school. We study anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology. Revital Health Physiotherapy And Massage But also, biomechanics and human sciences. We follow theoretical courses and courses of tutorials and practical work. The practical work is very formative, we learn different techniques of mobilization and palpation and we start from the first year to think abt global physiotherapy care.
Harmony Between Science and Communication
This job is, for me, the perfect combination of scientific-technical skills, and human and social sciences. The relationship between the physiotherapist and his patient is essential and will drive good care. You have to know how to welcome the patient, understand his objectives and plan the sessions with him to allow him to be as involved as possible in his rehabilitation. We must therefore demonstrate listening skills, patience, and empathy and always be kind to our patients.
You will have understood that a lot of theoretical knowledge accompanies this relationship and makes it possible to treat the patient as well as possible.
Motivation, The Key To Success
It takes work to learn all of these things, but it’s much easier to learn when you’re interested in something. The work and the rigor that you will provide will allow you to flourish and it seems to me that this is what really counts…
If you have physio studies in mind, arm yourself with passion and motivation! If you give yourself the means to succeed, you will have won everything. You will be part of a course that encourages you to question yourself and think for yourself, you will develop practical and concrete skills as soon as you arrive and the atmosphere is also there.
Muscle Strengthening Exercises
Many forms of exercise increase muscle strength. All involve using gradually increasing resistance to movement. When a muscle is very weak, movement against gravity alone is sufficient. As muscle strength progresses, resistance is gradually increased using resistance bands or weights. In this way, muscle mass and strength increase and endurance improves.
Coordination And Balance Exercises
These exercises are suitable for people who have problems with coordination and balance, usually following a stroke or brain injury. Coordination exercises aim to help people perform specific tasks. They consist of repeating specific movements, involving several joints and muscles, for example picking up an object or touching a part of your body.
Balance exercises are first performed using parallel bars, with a physical therapist positioned directly behind the person. The person shifts their weight between the right leg and the left leg in a rocking motion.
Wandering Exercises
The main goal of rehabilitation may be to walk independently or with assistance. Before starting the ambulation exercises, the person must be able to balance themselves in an upright position. To improve balance, the person usually holds onto parallel bars and shifts their weight from side to side and back and forth. To ensure their safety, the physiotherapist is placed in front or behind the person. Some people need to improve joint mobility or muscle strength before beginning gait training. Others need orthotics, such as a brace.
