Test: Maxus Euniq 6 – Here you get a user-friendly electric car

Autofun Philippines – In three years, the Chinese car market share in Norway has increased from 0% to 10%, and that is the electric car we are talking about. The price is a big selling point, but the size, level of equipment and range are, in general, good.

After a few successful years of importing and selling a wide range of electric trucks from Maxus, RSA in Drammen has a market share of 15% of the electric truck market. Now, they have also launched 5 models of Maxus passenger cars, in addition to being an importer for Suzuki, Isuzu and BYD in Norway and some brands in Scandinavia and Poland.

Maxus Philippines passenger cars include five-, five-, six- and seven-seat pickups, as well as the Euniq6 SUV. Calling it a front-wheel drive SUV is a bit of a shock to many and a downside, but its lower price, larger luggage compartment, and longer range are some of the pros.

Maxus

Cheap However, the price is the car’s biggest advantage, as NOK 399,900 is a level many small electric cars can find. The fact that the Maxus Euniq6 is sold as a 7-seater hybrid in China says a lot about its size.

In the tram, the rear seats have been pushed to the back for huge legroom and the luggage compartment is still a whopping 754 liters and is among the largest on the market. And then there’s a hatch under the floor with space for charging cables, tire repair equipment and more.

A charging power of 120 kW should mean that the battery is charged from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. In cool autumn temperatures, the actual charging time is 40 minutes from 4-65%, so theory and practice are pretty much the same.

User-friendly

Control panel operation is clear and the touchscreen works well from the steering wheel and specific fingers. Without navigation, you’ll depend on Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to navigate unfamiliar terrain, but after a bit of practice it’ll be easy to navigate menus and settings. It includes 64-color mood lighting, climate control, stereo sound and battery monitoring, and a host of driving, comfort and safety features.

In addition to good space, the perceived quality on board is also good, with faux leather and non-premium upholstery creating a bossy feel. Keyless operation, wireless mobile charging, and a 360-degree camera are also things you usually pay extra for, among other things. A large panoramic sunroof also reinforces the impression, however, there are a few things that are also worth highlighting.

Stamped

The chassis doesn’t take a hit and the asphalt joints are pretty bad and the car seems brutal in its behavior. If maintaining high speed in corners, the car will be more nervous and unpredictable than many other right-hand drive cars. Stability control comes in relatively late, but it can save you if you really lose control.

Sitting posture is also not good, especially for people with long legs. The short seat cushion is not able to tilt, while the steering wheel is not adjustable in length. The 177 hp is at least made for those having a bad time, as the car is slower than most trams in the first few meters. Still, 0-60 mph in about eight seconds should be fine for most people, and a top speed of 160 is more than enough to lose your driver’s license on the highway.

Classic

The car’s shape is that of a classic SUV, reminiscent of everything from the Subaru Forester to the Mitsubishi Outlander. You have also seen the lines, details and wheel arches before, although the front looks wide and flat without the traditional grille, but has front air intakes.

Two sets of dual headlights with three LEDs on each side look good and allow you to see clearly in the autumn darkness, although they are not adaptive. The rear end also has a large surface where an elegant light line and a discreet diffuser appear harmoniously.

If you are short on time, have long legs, keep your speed in corners and drive a lot on bad roads, the Maxus Euniq6 is not the car for you. However, if you are very price-conscious and appreciate a large, affordable and well-equipped car, you should not rule out the car. You won’t get more trams for your money.
