Just 3 months after its global debut in Thailand on 9-August 2022, Toyota Motor Thailand has collected 45,802 bookings (as of 28-November) for the D92A generation all-new 2023 Toyota Vios.
Of these, 12,972 units have already been delivered to customers, said Surasak Suthongwan, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand at yesterday’s opening of the 2022 Thailand International Motor Expo in Bangkok.
The Vios is sold in Thailand under the Yaris Ativ name, with a smaller 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine to comply with Thailand’s Eco Car requirements for lower excise tax rate (12 percent versus the regular 25 percent).
The 3NR-VE Dual VVT-iE 4-cylinder engine makes 94 PS and 110 Nm but of course, a larger 1.5-litre (2NR-FE) similar to the outgoing generation Vios will also be offered to other markets including Malaysia. This engine makes 106 PS / 138 Nm (Indonesian market specs).

The highlight of the all-new D92A 2023 Toyota Vios is that it now comes with telescopic steering – a sorely needed upgrade from the current model, which only has tilt adjustment for its steering rack.
It also comes with a full suite of Toyota Safety Sense, now adding Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Front Departure Alert (FDA), Auto High Beam, and Lane Departure Prevention.
